Wet-n-Wild Emerald Pointe – Wet ‘n Wild Emerald Pointe is the largest water park in both the Carolinas. It has more than 36 rides and attractions. Carowinds – Located on the NC/SC border, this amusement park recently opened their newest attraction, Fury 325, the world’s tallest and fastest giga coaster. North Carolina Zoo – The North Carolina Zoo is seated on a 2,200-acre tract of land; approximately 500 acres of this property have been developed into one of the largest “natural habitat” zoos in the United States. The animals are given enclosures that mimic their natural habitats to include trees, ponds, rocks, grass and dirt. They currently have a Dino World exhibit. U.S. National Whitewater Center – If your family is more into outdoor physical activity type fun then the Whitewater Center is for you. The U.S. National Whitewater Center is a non-profit outdoor recreation and athletic training facility for whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, mountain biking, and hiking. Oak Hollow Park – Oak Hollow is a favorite site for all types of activities, including pleasure boating, fishing, skiing, sailing, canoeing and kayaking. Bank fishing is available in the Marina area.
