Though summer doesn’t official start for another few days, I think it’s safe to say it is here, especially with the temperatures already in the 90s and the kids out of school.

2015 Summer Movie Express – Held at the Regal Greensboro Grande Stadium 16; Admission to the Summer Movie Express is only $1. Tickets available for purchase at the box office and all movies start at 10:00 am. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Will Rogers Institute. 1st Annual Street Party – In lieu of the Annual Beach Blast, Lewisville will be hosting their 1st Street Party. The first Annual Street Party will be Saturday, June 20 from 6 to 10 p.m. The Extraordinaires will be playing and food trucks will be on hand. Bring your friends to Shallowford Square for a great evening of music and dancing.
Greensboro Summer Solstice Festival – This 11th annual event will be Saturday, 20th from 2pm-10pm. This is a family-friendly event and brings joy and wonderment to all ages! Spanning the Greensboro Arboretum and Lindley Park, the Summer Solstice Bazaar will offer an eclectic array of merchandise and services that will delight the entire family. Scores of local vendors will entice you into their faerie glens to dazzle you with their artistry, jewelry, clothing, and accoutrements of all kinds. A fantastic array of food and beverages will be available on both sides of the bridge, so bring a blanket and picnic in the park. Get your glitter on and come play at this recherché market. Movies in the Park – Friday 19th The Lego Movie will be shown in Harmon Park, in Kernersville! The 2015 Movies in the Park Series will have games, food trucks, goodie bags (while supplies last) and more! All movies start at dusk- bring lawn chair, picnic blanket, and your family & friends!
Homes4OurHeros 5k – Saturday 20th starting at 8am – The Homes 4 Our Heroes 5K & Fun Run is an opportunity for you to run for a purpose to support homeless veterans and veterans with a ‘Housing Crisis’ who have proudly served our country. All net proceeds will benefit the Homes 4 Our Heroes project.
Running of the Bulls 5k – On June 20th starting at 8am the Hispanic League is bringing a Running of the Bulls 5K and Fun Run to Winston-Salem to raise awareness and funds for its scholarship program. The scholarships allow for Hispanic/Latino students to finish their own race and not worry about any bull.
Summer on Triad – Every Saturday this summer from 7pm to 10pm – Live music at the corner of 6th and Trade Street, in downtown Winston-Salem. For a list of performers, visit the Summer Music series website.
